The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sault Sainte Marie is a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church. As it is a titular see, it is not an active diocese.[1]

Originally the diocese for the northern part of Michigan was headquartered in Sault Ste. Marie.[2] Holy Name of Mary in the See City was the cathedral church.[3] In 1937 the see city of the diocese was transferred to Marquette, and the diocese was renamed the Diocese of Marquette.[4]
